The
American Montessori Academy strives to maintain the ideals of
Maria Montessori (1870 – 1952). She held that each child is
born with innate abilities and a deep desire to explore and
gain a mastery of their environment. The first six years of a
childfs development are the most crucial. In this early stage
children can equip themselves with the tools for a life of
learning. Children who experience the Montessori world acquire
self-sufficiency, graceful social skills, and higher levels of
proficiency in languages, sports, the arts, and academics. |
|
| The Montessori approach
recognizes that young children progress through each
learning stage at their own pace and that children of
different ages will teach and learn from one another. |
|
|
At the American Montessori Academy we provide the
atmosphere and curriculum that Dr. Montessori envisioned. |
